Virginia Deaver (b. 1999) is an oil painter and performance artist based in Los Angeles, and originally from Eastern Kentucky. Her work examines how the human body is shaped by labor, belief, and American mythologies, reflecting on capitalist structures and the illusion of the American Dream. Drawing from her experience in the service industry, she focuses on endurance and submission, with recent work turning toward religious Americana and the possibility of an agnostic afterlife. Deaver has been exhibited internationally, and currently lives and works in Los Angeles.
