Terra Keck (b. 1991) is a US based artist and performer living and working in East Williamsburg, New York. She received her MFA in Printmaking from the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa in 2018 and her BFA in Drawing from Ball State University in 2013. Described by the editor-in-chief of Hyperallergic as “sonograms of a world ready to be born… and brimming the optimism of theosophical insight,” Keck’s latest body of work explores the ontology of our universe and consciousness through the metaphor of the UFO. Instead of siphoned through the language of militarism and conspiracy, the work approaches the UFO from the angle that our universe is, at its core, benevolent. The work is created by erasing layers of graphite and watercolor, a reductive process that alludes to the importance of what is left behind and the negative spaces in our cosmic story.

Keck’s work has been published in The New york Times, Hyperallergic, The Art Newspaper, and Oxford American Arts and can be found in permanent institutional collections in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hawaii, and California. She is a regular contributing writer to Artspiel, Impulse Magazine, and Artefuse.Keck currently lives and maintains a studio practice in East Williamsburg.
