Lana Scholtz’s vivid abstract paintings play with perception, form, and sensation. Working in gouache and oil, she builds intricate compositions where organic contours meet architectural geometry. Saturated color, optical rhythms, and repeating structures give rise to immersive environments that balance intimacy with expansiveness, clarity with ambiguity, and the familiar with the otherworldly. Informed by curiosity, playful absurdity, and an abiding sense of wonder, Scholtz transforms sensory experience into richly layered visual fields. She lives and works in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
